First of all, Hi everybody! 
I've been following multiple threads for about a week now, googling/cross referencing different information. So today I went to go meet a gentlemen who listed an add on Kijiji for a 400W MH lights at a low price of 35$ including the Balast/fixture, light, 120v plug (attached) and a plastic reflector. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that he was asking 50$ for the whole thing assembled and 35$ not assembled.
Anyhow. My grow space is in a closet which measures, 6'3" long, 1'9" wide, and about 8-9' high. Unfortunately I did not have enough space for the 400w MH being sold in my current setup. So instead I purchased 1 fully assembled MVR175/U/MED Metal Halide Bulb attached to a hanging ballast on a 120v cord. I managed to purchased this unit for a decent 60$. I wanted 2 but he Did not have another assembled with the 120v plug, seeing as I am no Electrician. I decided to wait out, he is going to send me an email as soon as the other light is assembled.
so I am currently running:
1x GE 175w Mh at 4000k & 13500 lumens
2x Philips plant & aquarium 40w 48'' Cfls at 2700k & 1600 lumens per/light
2x Philips Mini Deco 13w 1 at 5000k & 1300 lumens. The other at 6500k and 1300 lumens.
My babies are currently nesting in a propagator 9-10 cracked in under 72 hours, all of which are skunk XXX. http://www.thseeds.com/pages/skunkxxx.html Picked them up at a local retailer in a cute little book package. Non feminized for 100$
Tomorrow evening will be 96 hours since I began germination using the paper towel method in between 2 plates in a dark area. I placed 5 and 5 seeds on 2 separate plates. I planted the first two seeds roughly 36 hours in and the rest today. I currently have the 175w MH running 24-0 hanging about 2'4'' above my propagator, I do not have the plant & aquariums running seeing as they are low level K and imo wont do much if anything until the plant is at least surfaced. save my $ when i can right
I do have both 13W mini cfls about 2 1/2" over the propagator cover as to keep a good level of heat/humidity inside.
I cut out a few holes in the cheap plastic propagators top as to let air run threw, I covered the top with a plastic garbage bag but did not insert the propagator into the bag so the plants could get fresh air exchange. they are buried no deeper then 1 1/2 times there own size, roughly 5-7mm? I didn't compact the dirt, I did presoak the soil 18 hours in advance, fliped it and padded it down lightly before planting the seed with washed hands.. Maybe I am ocd Maybe I am high. It is 4 am..
Anyhow. I misted the surface of the plants and covered them for the night, my thermometer reads a beautiful 84 degrees, but if the cuboard door is left open temps will drop to 72-76 depending on fan angle and speed. It is nice and humid in the room but not to humid, I have yet to get a humidity sensor, but as for now I leave the window open to Promote good ventilation..
I tested the Ph of my water today, It is a generic brand of bottled water It came in at 7.5 If I am not mistaken. What is ideal? I bought an adjustable ph kit from a pet store is this safe to mix into the plants water? I have not yet..
Okay so In regards to light, assuming 3-4 out of those 9 end up female I got my fingers crossed as this is my first grow. Would the current ammount of light in that space be proper? or would i be roughly 12000+ lumens short of "gods conditions?" Aka would the other light finish me off for the space being used. ps I will post pictures as soon as possible.
For now 1 day at a time and this a lengthy first post. I need smokes and it's 5 minutes to 4 am.
guess im going for a drive. lol
