question for the workout smart people

If you do say, 20 pushups and 20 situps every hour for however long you stay up in the day, would you get out of it the same as doing that total (for example you do it for 10 hours equaling 200 each) all in the same session? It seems like it would, but I dont really have a clue..which is why im asking..thanks for any answers :leaf:
 
No, it wouldn't be the same. Doing 200 reps in one session would be much more beneficial (and challenging!) than spreading them out.

Doing multiple sets within one time frame is much better. Say you do 4 sets of 15 or 20 reps with 45 seconds of rest in between...even though the total number of reps is fewer, the muscles will be fatigued and "pumped up" much more than only doing 20 every hour. But, don't get my wrong, 20 push ups every hour will definitely be better than nothing at all!
