question for somebody with large scale grow experience...

Hi, this question is not really intended for hippies or high school kids, but i'm sure someone out there could help me out without bullshitting. Basicly, this friend of mine wants to start a perpetual harvest operation. He has experience with small operations, but now wants to utilize nearly 600 square feet. The 600 square feet would be divided into a flowering and vegetation room of course. (350:250) Each of those would also be divided into two, thus giving him a 4 stage process. (1 month each, 2 months total vegetation, femenized seeds) He figures the final stage, which will be a 200 square foot area of the flowering room will allow for 1 plant per 4 square feet. That's 50 plants harvested every month.

Now... granted all this information i just provided is even possible, I would love for somebody with real insight to tell me how much lighting he should expect to provide if he wants to yield 2 ounces per plant. He thinks this is feasable.

Any legitamite feedback of all this bullshit i just provided would be highly appreciated and rewarded with props or credit or whatever it is... Thanks:blsmoke:

currently working on a perpetual of a similar nature. 600 sq ft is pretty legit. basically 4 12.5x12.5ft rooms. with 50 plants in each? i would put 3000wts Metal Halide in first, 4000watts Metal Halide in the second, and 4000 wt HPS in each of the flower rooms.

i'm running 22 flowering plants under 2000wts with mothers vegging under cfls, but after this harvest i plan on throwing 2 cycles of flowering, 15 plants under each 1000watts.

fifteen thousand watts might not be an option.. btw all four rooms wouldn't be the same size, they would get progressively larger but add up to 600. i thnk 50 seedlings could be covered by 1000 watt mh. 50 two footers could be covered by 3X400 watt mh. and 6X600 watt hps could flower about 16 plants each. I know this isn't optimum lighting, but the goal is 2 ounces per plant, 6 pounds per month. Do you think just less than 6000 total watts can provide that? btw, good luck with your grow man definately sounds legit :bigjoint:

no offense but you ask for advice and then when its given to you, you say thats not an option..? you should have asked in the first place if this certian amount of watts would provide enough.
IMO you would need atleast 2000w MH first room 3000w MH Second room 2600w HPS third room and 5000w HPS w/ carbondioxide fourth room.
I feel this would be the least though, more light can only be better, you have to realize that if you want to go this big your gonna need more light, water, nutes, co2, soil, time on your hands ect. if you can deal with it, stay smaller, or progresively move yourself up like 5 plants each time intill your at the point you want to stop.

and by least im saying very least, but your prob will only yeild 1oz-2oz per plant. i would rather grow less but bigger plants. you have the room.

thanks for the advice enjoy. im just not sure 15000+ watts will go unnoticed in my friends apartment complex. he has plenty of time on his hands, plenty of space, and pays his own utilities.... but it sounds to me like hes going to have to talk to an electrician :-?
but i will take your word that many watts will be needed to produce 2 ounces per plant... 15000+

you're going to do all this in an apartment?
If I were you friends neighbor I would definitely take notice to your grow op.

yea dude, your trying to harvest 6 pounds a month unnoticed in an apartment complex, using 12,000 watts at the least...
dude bad idea. IMO though.

a house is an option, dont get me wrong... but word on the street is grow 'houses' are detected by choppers... but now i realize the electricity dilhema with apts.

If I were in your situation I would wait until I had A property I owned not rented because anything can happen the landlord can walk in with reasonable cause if he liked to. I'm not trying to put down your grow op, Think it over because it sounds like a bad idea to me IMHO :leaf:

i agree with you completely. i've come to a personal conclusion that apartments should be limmitted to 2.5, maybe 3 pounds monthly... houses with huge basements are the way to go... i'll be sure to tell my friend
