If you can get 300 PAR Watts with 420W total, sure. But that's over 70% efficiency, not easy or cheap.

30 watts per sq ft x 16 = 480 watts for 4ft x 4ft
30 watts per sq ft x 12 = 360 watts for 3ft x 4ft
I'm currently using 600 watts for a 5ft x 4ft - 20 sq ft.
30 watts per sq ft x 20 = 600 watts for 5ft x 4ft
They're looking ok so far.
I've used 50 watts/sq ft in past but want to see what 30 does this time around

You have 75% of the square footage so use 75% of the light.

If you are growing autos that should be plenty... provided they are good led cobs/strips/qb's.

It is 420 watts of cobs. There are 6 clu048 1212s and 2 cxb3590s. 6 are running at 300 watts with the 2 running at 80 each. Would this be sufficient to flower non-autos in a 3x4? Would a 4x4 be impossible?

U can flower plants under less, but your results will suffer. If this is for personal id say go for it and see what happens. A little less density isnt a huge deal.
