I have been pollinating this way for a few years now & have tried preparing the male pollen a lot of ways. Worked best for me if the pollen is totally dry so it does not clump. I sifted the pollen for awhile but being lazy I found that cutting the male flower & putting it directly inside the paper bag to dry worked great, the least effort to know that pollen is in the bag & not blowing around somewhere.
Fun to try several crosses on the same female. Good luck.
