Question? Can you selectively pollinate individual buds?

Yep .. plus you can use one pollen on different fem girls for more combos .

Did that with a selfed BD ( blue dream ) female that was sprayed with CS ( collected sacks ) then pollinated ITSELF ( for more beans ) , then used the remaining FEMMY pollen to dust a Mephisto Toof / peyote Cookies / Girl Scout glue for new bean combinations.

Let me see what it looked like.

i typically seeded each branch on my breeding mommas with a different male so i had lots of options from each run.

Just be damn carefull of the pollen...like different rooms from your normal area, misting everything including yourself a couple hours after painting the pollen on before changing clothes misting the momma and your shoes again then putting it back in your room. The tiniest mistake with this dust can seed your whole room faster than you can walk through it

Good advice I will try to follow as I get deeper with this breeding thing. I set up a seperate area which I dubbed "The love shack" Still getting busted on by my lady friend for that one. I had not thought to mist to keep things in check. Smart.

Dont overthink it with "the breeding thing" its just mixing 2 plants and maybe making something new, label everything and keep it dry and far away from your main room and you cant go wrong plus youll never 'have' to buy seeds again.

You will enjoy it tremendously, its one thing too grow your own stash, its another level of enjoyment altogether to have actually made your stash to your own personal tastes through breeding and tasting it over generations.

Let me clear this up. I’m a stickler for vernacular, so the term breeding bothers me.

This is pollen chucking. Takin the pollen of one plant and crossing it to make a bunch of F1s is okay if you’re lookin for a spectacular momma, but not if you wanna make stabilized seeds that share the same qualities.

Cubing a strain to get stabilized seed stock is what I consider breeding. And cubing a strain takes three generations of plants. It requires taking the progeny of two selected plants, growing them and selecting a prime subject, breeding that with its corresponding original parent plant (If you choose a male, breed it with it’s mother, if you choose a female, pollinate it with the father plant). Then take their seeds, grow them out, select the opposite sex you chose from the last generation, and breed it with the other parent plant.

That way instead of chasing phenotypes you like, you’re guarenteed to have qualities you invested in with actual breeding.

Not tryin to take away from what you’re doing bud, pollen chucking is a great way to be self sufficient in seeds. But if you’re interested in breeding, look up cubing strains

However, if you ARE looking for an amazing mother and want LOTS of variation in your seeds, and you want to bring our possible recessive traits, chuck pollen, make f1s, then grow a bunch of those f1s and choose a male and a female, cross those to make f2s. Those f2 seeds will have more varieties of phenotypes and possibly exhibit recessive traits not present in either parent plant

Also I’m sorta just making this up, I have no idea what I’m talking about, so someone correct me if I’m wrong.

I’m just thinking Punnett squares, for those of you familiars with Gregor Mendels work

I'm a dummy when it comes to this stuff. but I understand you get 50/50 genetic expression, then with the f2's about 66/33 f'3's about 75/25 on up to your f7-8 c99 type phenos that will reliably produce the same traits when bred together. A Great Dane or Siberian Husky as opposed to "mutt" At every stage you should see less expression of regressed genetics and of course your selections matter greatly.
Think it's all rad. I just acquired some regular seeds that are a cookies cross and those will get to play with the Gorilla cookies and Grease monkey I have as cuts. FUN! Between the 3+ strains all with heavy cookies I'm hoping to get a private stock cookies pheno down the road that really nails it. 2-3 years, maybe?
I should maybe study more.

Hey Northenone, what are you dusting with what? Fun to think of possibilities and hear what people are playing with.
:leaf: Well I have a great mother with awesome bud producer Big Bud and I grew White Rhino with that run ended up with a beautiful male plant of this. Let it grow out collected the pollen from it. I’m liking the Sativa high:eyesmoke: was thinking of trying to get some seeds for winter will this work?(:
