question bout cool tubes

im designing my new grow and was wondering how close i can get to the top of my canopy with a 600w hps in a 5"cool tube..any body now this? will b a big help.
im planning to build a cage round 2 x 600w hps in 5" cooltubes, and doing a scrog method to grow around the lights keeping an even canopy so ill have 4 times the area using the same amount of lights.

would i be able to get as close as 6-10" to my canopy without heat issues. thanx

Hey

IMHO 6" to 10" might be cutting it too close.
I've been experimenting and have my 600W (in a cool tube @ dedicated 425 cfm vortex) inching closer and closer to the plants. I started at 18" and right now I am approx 14" away and temps are hitting 27 to 29 C, no ill affects to report as of yet.

I also read somewhere that you also have to be careful of literally bleaching your leaves, 6 to 10 @ 600 might jes do that.
