Question about when to flower and in what condition.

Howlingbuds

Fi rst grow and things are going ooohh so well. However, I'm afraid I waited too long to flower. I'm using 3 gallon pots and my plants are roughly 18" (almost 2 mo into veg). I just started the scrog and wanted to give them another week so I could work them into the nets, but Now I'm thinking I should just flower, as I'm afraid 3 gallons is going to be too small to make it all the way to harvest. Should I:

1. Transplant them into a 5 gallon pot and wait it out a couple of more weeks for them to adjust before flower or

2. Can I go ahead and flower them?

I would rather not re-pot them, but I don't want to sacrifice quality or quantity here, so I want to do it right. It's a sativa dominant hybrid. No other conditions are a factor for this grow (plenty of height, light and resources).

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

Flower when you want...
If height isn't a factor just buy the same size pot.
Carefully cut out the whole bottom of the pot.
Fill new pot half way... Insert old pot...
No stress to plant...

Happy growing!

Thanks Final Phase, just one more thing worth mentioning.. The strain is supposed to grow A LOT during flower. like 40cm to 120cm. So I could potentially end up with something that is 6' tall.. You think this method will still be good?

Thanks again!

and ya, I know I said height isn't a factor, but I've been reading up online on the flower growth of this strain and I didn't expect it to get that high... oops

Being still in veg you can easily do "low stress training" to keep the buds or cola from getting too close to your light so you can still go with second pots to avoid stress from transplanting.

I noticed you can buy things to bring your plants up but they are costly. I got 50 of these on the internet for dirt cheap and they do the same thing.
Right now I'm just snapping them on for weights. Normally they are used to bring heavy buds up closer to the light and keep low buds off the dirt. They act like a spring loaded yoyo...

I also use 8 guage coated wire to form direction I want the stem to go. Sorry for the lame photo - The 8 guage wire is white and blury.
