Currently on Day 28:
Bagseed in an Aerogarden... one plant is bushy as hell, the 2nd is runty, but showing some some pep the last two days.
Daytime Temp: 82-86 degrees
Nightime Temp: 70-74 degrees
Daytime Humidity: 55-65%
Nightime Humidity: 42-46%
Water temp in res is fairly cool now that I've covered the top of the unit w/ white paper
Using Homemade co2 bottle w/ a yeast/sugar mix
PH: 5.5 > 6, but that's an estimate... I'm using PH strips to get it to read 6.0 and then I put in 2 more drops. I try and do this over the course of the first 4 hours of the plant's day.
Fan mounted on ceiling blowing down to just barely move the leaves
First day of 100% FF Nute mix started tonight after res flush.
Biggest plant is about 4" tall and had four really long branches hanging off the sides... 12" wide one way, about 8" the other... those leaves were snipped because they were blocking the light on the smaller plant and have been curled under for the past week. I topped/FIMd both plants last week and they healed up nice... the larger one is bushy as hell, even without the four long leaves.
So now to my question:
Picked up my flowering lights today:
3 40 Watts = 2600 lumens x 3 --- side lamps that I'll move around as needed
4 23 Watts = 1700 lumens x 4 --- Overhead light hood to replace AGs
also using: Aerogarden = 1450 lumens x 2 --- side lights
100% lumens is 17.5k... but I'm assuming I won't be that efficient... but it's gonna be friggin' bright from all sides.
I know the bulbs themselves don't put off too much heat, but their metal bits that go in the socket do... I set up what I'm going to use as the overhead hood and noticed it was a little 'floppy', so I stabilized the fixtures with twine. Do you think that's safe? Neither fixture is going to have more than 50watts going through it, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I can also replace the ties with plastic zip ties, but I wanted to stabilize the kit for now. I'm not too worried about the ties holding the power strip in place, it's the two that wrap around the fixture that I want some vets to check out.
Pics of plants and lights below. Suggestions, comments, concerns greatly appreciated.
