Question about seedling stem strength

Hey All,

I'm on my first ever grow right now, and had some questions about the strength of the stems in seedlings. I have four different seeds planted, 2 of 2 different kinds of strains. One of the strains is growing vertically a lot faster than the other strain, and the seedlings are starting to bend over from their weight. it's only 5 days or so into the grow, and i figure that they'll probably eventually straighten themselves out, but I figured i might as well ask here just in case. does anybody know if they need any external support (like a toothpick?) or something of that sort, or if i should just give them time?

thanks in advance for any replies...

That's not uncommon. Make sure your lights are as low as they can get as this helps to keep the plants from stretching too much.

But, I have propped up young plants with items before just to keep them looking towards the light and in a week or so you should be able to remove the prop and the plant will hold its own after the stem has had a couple of days to beef up. Add a light breeze soon if you can as this helps make strong stems.
