Question about Rock wool

Hi all. I was wondering how well does rock wool retain water and how well does it retain water in soil

Rockwool retains water very well. With soil there are so many variables that you would need to be more specific which brand / mix.

Just regular soil from the self. going with MG since its some thing that I've growen house plants in with no problums I usaly just pick out the small nute balls

Its very easy to overwater in mg soil.I switched to pro-mix and have no problems putting clones in rockwool right into pro-mix.

How is it easy to over water in mg? never had that problum with my house plants

the rockwool gets too wet in soil that drains slow like mg. house plants? i thought we were talking about pot?

We are but I have house plants that I have that are in MG soil. But that makes sence on how it can get over watered in mg

Unless you're using the smallest rockwool cubes available, I would not suggest mixing mediums.

Oh yeah, those will work with dirt just fine. Just be sure to get their roots established in a 16 oz cup before going into anything bigger.

I use the next size up.40mm x 40mm i think. When i see good roots i put em in a 1 gal or a 7"x7" pot with pro mix and light nutes.gotta take the wrapper off first .
