Question about revegetating plants

So this is a rather weird problem, but here goes. A while back I had an extra clone that was planted in a party cup and I decided to put it in my flower room just for fun to see what would happen. It's almost done flowering now and due to me being stupid and somehow mislabeling plants, it is the only cutting I have left of that phenotype which I definitely want to keep. My question is what would be the best way to re-veg this plant so I can keep this pheno alive. Now I've never re-veged a plant before, but I've read about it and this is my general plan, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. My plan is to chop the top nugs in about a week or so leaving some bottom growth on the plant, then but it back under a veg lighting schedule. I figure since it's only in a party cup and surely root bound as hell that I should probably transplant it to a 1 gallon pot, or would that be too much stress on top of the re-vegging? Like I said, I've never had to do this before so any help you guys have would be awesome, thanks.

Leave bottom fan leaves and buds (the more the merrier), put under 18/6 lighting, give it a good feeding, and wait a week or so before repotting, or until you see some new leaf growth starting to form out of the buds. I just don't want you to stress her too much too soon after being chopped. That's what I did for my girl, and she is doing really well.

This sounds like good advice
