Question about RDWC system

Hoping somebody can help me answer this question. I have a 8 bucket under current RDWC system. When growing do I need to fill all 8 buckets with plants or can I use 4 and have 4 be empty? Thanks. There is a picture below. I have the buckets arranged differently now. But that's the system

I don't see why not, but I would suggest modifying it to fit 4, or getting 4 more clones. At the very least, cover the buckets that you are not using to keep the light out of the water system.

Your nute concentration is water volume dependent. So yes, same ppm regardless of how many plants.

Are you doing drip rings or under current , looks like drip rings to me. Anyway why do you want to leave buckets with no plants in the room? You would be wasting a ton of nutrients , if your only gonna have 4 plants there is no need for 50 gallons of water. I would dial in the system to figure out how much water to use. For instance I run DWC , utilizing sprayers, with 13 gallon buckets and have 4 and only fill a 25 gallon res then add any more only as needed

Well it's a 8 bucket system and I bought it because I didn't want to have another diy project. I don't think it would work properly if I removed buckets. And it was advertised to fit in a 4' x2' tent lmao idk how that's possible bc it barley fits in my 4'x4'.

It won't hurt anything running empty pots.Just keep the net pots covered so no shit gets in your hydro. But remember xtra pots means xtra nutes & that =$.
