Question about ph/tds pen

i live a 90 minutes away from a hydro store, bought a pen and inside it told me i should store the electro - thing in a solution of some crazy letters and numbers like h77627. what else can i store it in? do i have to store it in anything?
what happens if i dont?

Just put some distilled water in the cap or 4.0 calibration solution which you should have to calibrate your meter.

Never store a pH probe in water. That will shorten their lifespan. I don't know about TDS meters but pH probes have to be kept in storage solution (only needed for long term) or 4.0 cal solution like you recommended.
