i found a nice moist spot back in my woods its an old creek that dried up after digging 2 feet down i saw moisture small ammounts of water if i fill this with my potting soil could i transplant here or is it best to transplant in dry spot. the creek area gets EXCELLENT sunlight.

If you dig down and find water it "may" be too wet.. is there a slope you can plant on.. that way the gravity drains away from plant while still keeping good proximity to water...... I think it will be OK... IMO.

i found an exelent slope s/e facing gets amazing light as well i just thought this dryed up swamp might work better save me some trips for watering etc plus i'll have to hike another quarter of a mile up hill to get to my other spot

dig down like 2-3 feet and see how wet it is there and if your pretty positive its not going to flood and your not getting really wet soil at 2-3 feet down Id say go for it. You might also want to think about building mounds of dirt that way it puts them up a little higher so it doesnt stay as wet as the surrounding area.

im gonna go with my hill cuz i went back out to the swamp area 1/2 of my 2 ft hole was full of water theyll definately drown there especially if we get any decent ammount of rain
