question about my carbon filter

Just wondering if anyone can tell me something about my carbon filter... I hung it yesterday and noticed a like plastic bag inside it.. I'm wondering if that is something that should be there, is it going to get sucked up in my fan?? anyone know?

this is how the fan will be set up...

That is one hell of a filter. Yea there should be nothing loose in it. I see you left the pre filter on. Good thing. I have seen where they took them off. I took mine off rinsed with water/soap and put it back on.

ok so I decided to start taking a lil tug on the plastic inside the filter, when I did so I found what looks like a bundle of the same matarial used to wrap the outside of the filter.. the pre filter I guess... any thoughts???

An additional cover? If smaller then maybe a cap for the end depending on how you utilized the filter? Just a few guesses... Good thing you looked.

lmfao I'm glad it was finally done!@!! needed to be said!!! It is a bit of over kill, I'm putting a variable speed dial on it.. blew up the first one not knowing what I was doing.. The filter was given me along with a lot of other unused equipment... A friend of mine was preparing to start a fairly large grow when kantrina wiped his ass out.. he gave up and I inherited a small fortune!

Obviously it is material that has no business being there. Take it out and see if it is the same material as the cover of the filter. If not it was put there for shipping or for storage! Probably put there by your buddy to protect the carbon from weather and humidity. Just pull it out and turn it on. Also you going to run a vent outside your growroom?
