No worries.
You don't need a hood but do need a reflector of some sort, which has the socket and wire which connects the bulb to the ballast.

a 600hps will penetrate way better into the canopy than the mars. and it will cover a 4x4 all by itself.

even though you are doing autos, you could even buy a smaller like 2x2 tent and use the mars to get your next batch started and then as they start to bud, put them in the 4x4. get a perpetual grow going.

i don't do autos but for fem seeds, i start my next batch after 4 weeks of 12/12. veg for 4ish weeks then in the bloom tent they go

Dude, (for what it is worth) I am running a Meizhi 450w (200 true watts) which is "same shit different pile" to the Mars (except you have an extra 65w).
My 2 girls are flowering like crazy under it. I am sure there are better lights and I plan to build my own COB setup, but I would say let your plants finish under the Mars and see what happens. It is obvious to me that I am going to have some nice buds. Running out and spending money for a light to finish that batch is not necessary, IMO. Although, I'm growing photos, not autos.
Last question can I use a 600 watts hos bulb with its ballast but without the hood how would it work without the hood that has the socket?

Thats the thing I wanna hang it vertically what can I use should look up whatever socket my hps bulb has and look for a socket cable or whatever?

unless you plan on having the plants around the bulb like a donut, you'd be better off with some type of reflector. i'd get an air cooled one and that way if you get too hot, buy a 6" fan and some ducting and vent the heat out of the tent.
