Question about inline fan + carbon filter CFM's

Alright so, I'm gonna use a 6" inline fan that's rated at 530 CFM, but I don't think the fan will be operating at 530 CFM because I'll have it hooked up to a fan speed controller. I'm guessing I'll have it turned down pretty good since I'm only exhausting a 2x2x5 area. I decided to go with a 6" instead of a 4" because with the 6" I can run the speed controller and turn it down to decrease the noise while still having plenty of air moving.

So my question is this.. what Phresh filter should I buy, 400CFM or a 550CFM?

IMO you should buy the 550.

Reason being is, what if you have to turn that fan up to full power?

If the fan never has to run on full power consider the 550 a good investment as it will last longer than its average life expectancy.
