so my grow room is in a closet roughly 6.5ftLx3ftwx5.5ftT. i have a 160cfm fan with duct running from light to out the closet, another fan not sure the cfm thinking about getting a better one, but got duct running to that as well sucking air into the closet and another fan inside the closet just blowing the air around. my question is i use a 400w combo ballast thats remote. how much heat does it produce and would it lower my heat in the room a few degrees if i move out of the room or it doesnt make that much of a difference? also theres pics of the set up and everything on the journal link. not sure how accurate my thermometer in the room is, its one of those cheap ass maybe $3 one. sorry was stoned posted in wrong place.

The ballast produces a lot of heat - not as hot as the bulb but there is much more thermal mass. Keep it out of your grow room, cage, if you can. Good thinking.

Any thermometer within 5 degrees accuracy should give you a good idea of acceptable heat. Put a throw-away clone in the room by itself, see if it survives. If you have two throw-aways one watered and another dry to see how much quicker the dry plant wilts. Once the throw-aways live move in your good plants. Canaries.

cool, thanks for the info. will move the ballast out today and see, my plants is actually fine, atleast what i think i could be wrong lol. thanks again.

ok so i just went up into the grow room shut her down for a quick minute and moved the ballast out. it would make since cause since i added the the other fan pulling air into the room and even after adding the exhust from the light it would stay about roughly 90 then after adding the the fan bringing air in it would stay at 88 so maybe the ballast was putting out all the heat i was fighting besides the light, cause with that 160 cfm fan suck air through the fixture and such you could leave your hand on it for an hr and it would get hot enough to move it. thanks again.
