Question about drivers

i have a question about the driver
lets say i have HLG 250H 2100
its volt is 59-119V
if i connect QB that use 100V what happens to the 19V?
does it make the driver use less Watts for the wall?
or does the driver will still use 250W?

the 19V doesnt get used, your driver cost per watt just goes up a bit over a fully filled out driver

look at the efficiency curve (im assuming you mean HLG240 which matches the voltage)

100V/119V = 84% load. you can see that youre still pretty far up on the efficiency curve at 84%, lets say 90.5

assuming youre using 2x QB288 (QB304 cant handle 2100 mA), youd actually be at 106.5V which is 89% of load, and close to 91% efficient

draw at wall would be (106.5V x 2.1 A)/0.91 = 246W

if you actually filled the driver out youd be pulling closer to 275W. 90% driver utilization as in your case is pretty good

thx
4 QB304 can handle 2100 right? in parallel
the same question about the hlg 185h c1400
it has voltage 71-143V
so if ill set 3 QB304 in parallel thay will only use 107V max so the watts should be less then 200W right?
im asking this cuz i want to run a setup that will use 500-550W from the wall (ill have 3 setups of hlg 185h c1400 in one tent)
