just a quick question i am working on a quantum board light build and im just looking for a bit of incite on meanwell drivers. so i run a production hlg 550 in my room currently and at first i was planing on modeling my builds after the 550. i had 3 choices for drivers {600-54a, 480-2100a, 240-2100a} my preference was the 480 watt driver but it ended up not being out of stock or priced way to high so i ended up going with the 240w drivers i was told that the 240w drivers would be more efficient but idk where he got that from as meanwell has it rated at 93.5 where as the others where rated at 95 and 96 what i do notice is that the 240w driver is listed as being able to put 285 watts out as apposed the 480w which would put out 20w less or so to me maybe im just looking at it wrong but when i power the lights up really the boards seem so much brighter then my production lights honestly about burns my eyes out where as i dont feel that way with the 550 light maybe someone has a bit of insite for me idk lol long winded i know just trying to wrap my mind around the concept i guess

Strange! Try to run the boards with the same current and compare it again with the 550. There should not be such a brightness difference even with a better bin. Are you sure they all have the same spectrum? 4k looks brighter than 3k. The HLG-240 has the best price/performance rating of all MW drivers and two of them would be ~20w more as you get with an HLG-480.

i mean honestly it could be the case that i have something different then i thought i was trying to do things fast and cheap as i could and i could not get my hands on real hlg boards and ended up buying counterfeit boards from this ebay link the actual led's do look that same to me but i guess that doesnt mean i dont have 4k boards i guess i will have to do a bit of testing tomorrow
and maybe i buy a par meter in the next few weeks
