looking to purchase a whole 4x4 kit. I see the are roughly $500 on bay for a Mars hydro tws2000. Would this be a smart purchase? Should I purchase separately for better quality? Was about to purchase bit needed the input of my buds. Help me out here...I did search, it was outdated info.

thanks!

Check the deals thread posted in the LED section - you can find good-to-high quality LED panels posted there that typically fall around $0.50 to $0.75 per watt. You could get 600w of LED for your tent for around $300 USD if you are patient.

I'm talking actual wattage and not advertised wattage.

I wouldn't buy a kit, waste of money. You're gonna want to budget closer to $600 for semi-decent gear. $100 for tent, $400 for light fixture, $100 for air circulation. You could cheap out and get a $200 light, but you will find yourself replacing it twice as fast.

Gorilla original grow tent is nice and sturdy
I like zipper grease
Agreed with the don't buy a kit route-- they aren't usually that great. A good 4x4 setup may cost anywhere from 500$-2k$ including equipment and going hydro

lights try a DE HPS or LED's. Be sure to ask before buying if it is a good deal.. Gavita,Horticultural lighting group, timber, chilled, spiderfarmer, mars all have pretty good reputation. HLG is usa based and so is i think timber and chill led

I went with a 6 inch intake and exhaust fan so two of them.
and some circulating fans in there as well

Those kits need to be designed by growers. 90% of them are pieces together with inadequate equipment. I have a Mars hydro FC4800 in a 4x4, and it covers pretty well. There about 6” between the light and the walls on the sides which isn’t bad considering those walls are highly reflective. From front to back there is less distance between the light & walls.
