I thought I would jump into the deep end with LED and run the QB96v2Elite. I've been growing, primarily indoors for close to 30 years so I hope that my experience will offset the steep learning curve with LED, and these in particular.
My system is a series of 3,1 meter sq tents daisy chained together with 6" ducting. The first in the line is the drying and cloning tent, followed by the flowering tent, powered by 4 of the QB96's. Lastly will be the veg tent powered by 2 of the QB96's. The veg tent will have the filter inside, and will be pulled thru with a 6" inline, taking the warm most air elsewhere.
The tents, are about 40"x40" so somewhere between a 3x3 and a 4x4.
I was inspired by the threads here at RIU regarding the QB96's and figured I'd give 'em a try.
I got the boards all wired up and hung up in their respective tents. Very impressive units altogether!
I understand that the lighting maps that were done by a member here my not correlate due to the size difference, but they are a good starting point.
I have 2 of the engines hooked up to 1 of the hlg-320h-54a drivers and everything is running smoothly so far.
I do have a few questions about the driver and the two adjustment knobs. I have a DC meter hooked up to each driver and so I can monitor the wattage as well as voltage and current in real time. Not knowing much about electricity, how should I approach setting the two adjustment knobs? Is it better to turn one up/down and rely upon the other? Any experience would be helpful.
I'll be running coco Hempies with mostly organic bottled nutes. The genetic volunteers for running the gauntlet in this new lighting system will 3 seedlings consisting of PeakSeedsBC's SkunkBerry, BeanHo's FreakSativa Blockhead and Richard Williams Seed Co's Trainwreck. a couple of weeks behind are an undetermined # of Second Generation Genetics RosaBerry. I put 16 in water and have maybe 6 that I think are going to make it, 3 that probably won't and 7 that never showed any splitting of the seed shell. I'm not going to fret my poor luck, but I was looking forward to a pheno hunt.
Pictured below are a few pics of my two tents. Nothing exciting yet, but every journey begins with a single step!
