Alright guys
Just recived this board through the post today and wondering IF I put a aluminium spacer between boards would I loose any coverage or anything like that or would I actually benefit from more coverage . Used hps for years but now seeing about the same results from these boards if not better .
Led's are 301h with ir and uv supplemented .
Thanks

I've thought there must be a bit of over lap or a bright spot if you like.
If you knew the angle the light comes off/out at you could work out the optimal distance apart for a given height?

Most QB bds have a usable spread 6" away from the edges, usable meaning not much loss of par

If you mean cutting the heatsink and spreading them, seems like a lot of work to gain 8" or so

No mate just extending by way of ally . Was just thinking same with over lap , and also was thinking a tad more than the 6" maybe 10 idk .

I only started off with the 480 , will add more if these impress . Changing over from hps . What are they like for quality of buds

And What area would the 480 cover ?. Might have to add another to make 640 idk yet .
I'm building a scalextrics in part of my shed and will only have 4 1/2 ft by 5 ft once I've adjusted stud wall back to make room for the boys toys . Would the 480 cover that space and have 6 plants

Also .
I have 2 240 board with 2 drivers , 2 dimmers .
Can I connect the dimmers together so both boards run and dim off one knob ? And where the hell does the dimmer attach too ? Just left hanging . Do I have to use my brain and find a suitable place for it ?
Thanks

Make it into an effective 4x4 and you have some space to move around, 480 would be alright. Having a bit extra space and aurflow is fine. If you wanna cover the full area in the future buy another 2 and keep them slightly dimmed down for an aprox 600-700w.

100k dimmer for one driver, 50k for 2. The blue and white wires are for dimming, and will go to a side post and the center post of the pot. The side you pick just changes the dimming direction on the dial

Bit numb when comes to wires and wat not. So basically yes I can run both boards off 1 dimmer ? . Just double up the blue in 1 pot and then double up white in other pot ? Will it still be same power

Both wires go to the same potentiometer
For both drivers you would need a single with 50k ohms resistance. For the single driver you would need the 100k version. I linked the 50k

Only linked to that one for reference, any will do. Just make sure its linear and not audio
