PVC Pipe Exhaust?

Hi, everyone.

Is there a decent reason why we typically dont use PVC pipe/fittings for exhausting? Apart from price? Thanks.

Nothing I guess other than if your piping through a room that is full of light, like a veg room and into a flower room, the light will shine like hell through that pipe. Especially the thinner it is. I use flexible ducting wrapped in black plastic.

Ahh, ok. Thanks, Therrion. I'm just thinking for my own 'seed-to-dry buds' single grow tent, to pipe into another room. Thanks.

You can use it if you want. Hell my homes HVAC uses a fresh air intake run thats done with PVC.

PVC works fine - it's only real "downfall" is that it's a rigid piece of pipe. The flexible style venting easier to maneuver if you have to go around things in your grow space.

Thanks, StareCase. Its rigidity for my setup is its strength over flexible ducting. Good to hear that everyone else uses it just because of that and not some chemical leaching of PVC under light, or something.

No chemical leaching. I use a 90 degree PVC elbow (with a cheesecloth filter) for my lower intake vent - four successful grows with it.
