putting my plant in the freezer...?

when the plant has dramatically temperature drops it usually turns purple rite?

im not planning on doing this, just wondering if it would work? than i mite do it.

but if i put it into the freezer could it hurt the plant? t

thats true depending on what pigments the plants release
anthocyanins r purplish colors and carotenoids r red/orangish colors
it would def be easier to get a plant known for turning purple
 
I heard that you can take dry ice and cut a hole out in it and set the bud down in the hole and cover and it suppose to turn anything purple
 
Taking the temp down that low causes a deficiency of some kind so the leaves turn dark purple. Potassium I think, or Phosphorus.
 
If you get cold temps in the springs, outdoor cannabis can get really purple, but you wouln't want to stick it in a freezer, plus you'ld be messing up the light cycle, and if nothing else, too much temp swing WILL shock you plant.

i dont think so....
it causes the breakdown of chlorophyl and releases anthocyanins and carotenoids
 
Dramatic temperature swings will probably do more bad than good, if you want purple, buy a purple strain...or move to Alaska, whichever is easier lol

Moash is correct. Same reason SubCool uses the planting mix he does; different fertilizers have been shown to increase Anthocyanin production/expression, also - usually at the expense of that of Chlorophyll (production). The ratios are generally inversely proportional.

Keep 'em green = bigger buds
Color 'em = smaller buds but perhaps better taste/'bouquet' = Connoisseur buds

These factors are also largely genetic-dependent.

What is your ultimate goal? Are you simply trying to get colors on a finished product and then pass it off as a 'Purple' strain for more bag appeal/$$$ ? Or something less renumerative in mind?

a fady kid thing im an old man from the acapulco gold, tha panama red, and the tie stick days and i have seen a lot of fads come and go even duplicated or should I say imatated this to shal pass

to me color means nothing except the color of buds as trichs change

there was a time not to far back when purple buds ment weaker smoke almost like seeded bud, but now it has strenth in with color

i use organics and i prefer el natural un colored, un flavored, no nicotine or caffine no nutin

apparently when it was tried, I THINK by riddleme, it ruined the bud, made it taste horrid. As far as turning purple from cold, when I was a teen doing guerrilla grows in houston I had a crop get hit by cold weather, wasn't a freeze, but it dropped to low 40's - mid 50's for about a week, we were afraid they would be dead, but when we got out there they were fine and purple.
