PURPLE STEM: good or bad

What is this purple stem

image.png This stem has been purple since it was a seedling! It's a beautiful color, I never thought it could even be a problem until now. Does it just mean it's an indica plant, or that something is wrong?!?! :(

So what is it? Indica or just deficient/sick. :shock:

it means it could be some dank my man!!! ive only grown a few plants that had purple stems from genetics and they were all super dank you know the strain??

sounds genetic to me. look into compost teas if you like to grow organic. and xtream gardening they have some great stuff

I think every 2-3 weeks is too long. Once every week to a week and a half.
 
they are small plants so they dont need a lot of food but im sure every 10 to 14 days would be fine. they will let you know when they need food

ya the plant looks pretty light green too prob a little underfed on the nitrogen as well. Its hard to recommend how much to feed cuz i have no idea whats in the dirt the plant is in. But generally id say to give the plant like 50% more than u have been and see how it reacts. If it gets yellow tips then u are probably feeding a little too much and drop it back down a little. That is not very strong fertilizer so i wouldn't be too worried about stepping it up a little. Once she starts flowering u may want to find a fert with a little more K. I like about a 2-4-3 ratio for flower.

Had that on a plant that would not grow for sheet then all of a sudden it took off and that purple part stayed but all the new stem was green and normal.

I'm colorblind but that stretch says you need way more light if you want to produce in flower

If it were me I'd up the feedings until I got just a little tip burn then adjust from there
 
Dont sweat the purple. Youl'll hear all kinds of explanations about deficiencies etc. Really no one knows exactly what causes this or how to remediate it. Folks grow cup winning bud with purple petioles and stems.

If someone sap tested clones with and with out purple it might help explain. Ive been asking about purple petioles for a few years. There is no consensus on the cause.
