Purple stalks

Hey guys I have a quick question.

Some portions of the stalks are turning purple.

What is the cause of this?

Thanks.

Although low temp's can cause this it is more likely that this is to do with undernuting. I'd say you need to add more P. Are the plants in flower or veg'?

What are the NPK levels of the nutes you are using for veg'?

Are you giving any supplements like iron? A build up of iron can stop a plant adequately taking in Phosphorous (P).

The NPK levels are...

8% N

10% p

12% k

the nutes im using provides a very small amount of Iron.
If that's the problem, I don't know where they'd be receiving the extra
dosage.

Whatever it is its lack of Phosphorus, cold temperatures can cut off the plants uptake of P, and any P def results in purple stems and leaves.

if not it's possibly lack of proper nitrogen

I may also be inclined to agree with this. Your npk levels are off for vegetating cannabis.

Cannabis likes a lot of nitrogen during veg', it also likes a lot of potassium while only liking middling amounts of phosphorous.

Also I don't like the temp' option for the reason that you mostly have a very stable temp' of 68f during lights off. This is a perfect (to my mind) 10f drop. cannabis can take up to a 20f drop before any ill effects should be realised.

Im planning on heading out today. What level of Nitrogen should I look for in
a nute before I purchase?
