Purp and Yellow, Purp and Yellow - What Next?

My sour diesel clone is 3 weeks into flowering, showing progressively more purple stem color, and lower/older fan leaves are turning yellow.

I just hit it with some epsom salt, but not seeing any improvements after 24 hours.

The buds look great though, she's getting pretty stinky. Should I be concerned? Any tips to maximize taste/yield during these final five weeks?




Soil Potting Mix in 3 gal container
Fed bubbled tap water, EJ Bloom every other feed
Have never checked Ph

Is the main stem purple? Purple on the leaf stem is normal. Purple main stem you may have problems. Not sure but I think the epson has to break down. You not going to see much in 24 hours anyway. If the stem is solid purple and the salt is working you will see it go to streaks of purple down the main stem in 3 or 4 spots. Then those streaks will go to solid green.

I have also grown strains that have light purple streaks down the main stem. Did not seem to hurt anything. But if it goes solid purple you have problem from what I learned. I seen growers and myself turn solid purple main stems but to solid green. This is why I am leery when some people say it's just the strain.

Again watch the streaks in the main stem. It will tell you lots if your fix is working.

Thanks Stoner, I am seeing a little purple striping on the main stem, but nothing solid and just in a few spots. Will give the Epsom a few more days to work in.

yellowing is common when close to harvest. but idk about 3 weeks in. maybe a lack of nitrogen. i know mine at 2 weeks in stretched like crazy and i made sure i had a decent nitrogen rating on my nutrient container. you don't want a zero rating in the nitrogen category.
