pump dial/settings

Okay so I was cleaning my res today and I just took everything apart and I noticed something... there is a pump dial with various settings.

Would it be beneficial to turn the dial up? down?

Has anyone ever messed with this?

yea ive seen that to on mines but ive never messed with it, im guess its to do with the how much waterflow and how fast it goes.

yea i turned mine down to 1 from 2 just for the noise factor

So is that the pump speed or what? If thats the case I might crank mine up.

My room is loud as fuck because I have a fan blowing in there 24/7 anyways.

I've wondered about this too...
whats the gallons per hour for the pump?
Why would it matter though, it's just to keep the grow media wet right???
