Pruning Questions.

So i got baby #1 on a 10 gallon fabric pot. She is 3 feet 2 inches with 17 nodes working on 18. She is in week 1 of flowering. she is extremely bushy, even during the vegetative stage, so i cut off 4 nodes from the bottom and managed to get 3 successful clones. Yet, i think she is still too bushy from the bottom.

due to my grow space, which is about 25 square feet, i really don't think i can handle any more clones. should i cut off more branches from the bottom and just throw them away? A lot of them aren't getting enough light at the bottom and are starting to yellow and getting very dry. I think they are robbing energy from the top.

I just read up on super cropping as well, am i too late for that since i am in week 1 of flower?

Also, during lights OFF, do they really need to be in total pitch black? no light whatsoever? and how cold should i drop the temperature to?

all constructive criticism welcome.

Thanks;

Sammy.

fist off, super cropping, I would strongly advice against it since you are in flowering and it really do put some stress on em, I actually have some fist hand experience with it two weeks in to 12/12 and I got a Hermi from it, so up to you but I would not, not agin :D

and yes pitch black doing lights off, or you might also stress em in to hermi (hermi = setting male flowers and ruin half your yield if your unlucky) best way to check is to sit in there for +5 minutes, in the dark, after 5 you shouldn't be able to see your own hand in front of your face, thats how dark it need to be

how to drop temperatures is a hard one, a AC would be number one, a pice of tube/ducting to a window could also work, when I had problems with to high temps doing summer with a 600W HPS I did run light time at night and dark time at day time so to speak

and yes do some more pruning/lollypoping, in my experience if you leave em they will just take energy for your top bud`s that actually get strong light

so you maybe end up with 10% smaller top buds (so to speak) and instead get a lot of small popcorn buds down low that only really is useable for Kif/Oil/hash makeing with the sugarleaves

I just did a bit of pruning my self

Copy that Slipon! thanks for the advice. No Super croping and Pitch Black.

And yes, I am also running my 600w HPS at night with a Cool Tube. However, the lowest temp i can get is 80 degrees Fahrenheit when light is ON. When Off, i run my Air Conditioner in my bedroom, leave the door to my closet open, turn ceiling fan on and another 12 inch fan next to my closet door. Lowest Temp i got was 69 degrees. I am going to invest in a portable Air Conditioner and plug the exhaust of the AC to my exhaust centrifugal fan using a Wye Duct.

Alright then, lets start Pruning.

Also; did i get myself into trouble for using a 10gallon pot? I dug my finger about 1.5inches into the dirt, and when i pulled my finger out, it felt as if i were hooking on to a string. I realized it was roots. I think. I'm most positive it was. If it is, do i need to transplant into something bigger? Are my roots getting cramped up? I really hope not.

your just fine :D

I also had to run my 600W HPS with a cool hood at night to get ok temperatures and 80F is actually good, IMO all from 76-84F works and night temperature`s is that important, tho do try to keep it cooler the day time, right now mine is 79-82F at day and 74-76F at night and they do just fine

a cheap DIY "fix" could be some Alu/plastic Ducting to "collect" air from your AC to your intake, so you could keep the door closed

and 10 gallon is plenty, I use 5 or 7 so no need to repot IMO and don't worry about the root`s they survive, even if you rip sumthing they just grow out agin, tho try to be careful ;)
