Prune fan leaves?

Before saying "don't cut anything" or telling me how fan leaves work, please read the whole post.

First off, I am a CFL user practicing maximum LST.

Okay, I don't know whether or not I should cut some of the nodes that are just fan leaves off. There are currently a set with each "top" on the only plant I'd consider doing this to. The reason I am even thinking about pruning is because the plan is growing on it's side, and the fan leaves are blocking room for the new top's fan leaves. It has 6 tops, and I just topped the tallest part a few days ago. All of the new tops have 3+ sets of nodes, but the old only fan leaf sets are blocking light to the fan leaves that are part of the tops. Should I cut a set or two of these off to increase air flow and light to the tops? I would just be cutting the part of the branch that is JUST a fan leaf. In the picture you can see the problem of having no space to pin anything.

Pictures for those without reading comprehension. bongsmilie

Well, what I was trying to get at is that I want to pin all the tops down as I have been, and the fan leaf sets are taking up valuable reality down below.

the fan leafs make the plant grow so its either slow growth or light to the tops, you make the call which is more important
