PROGRESS PICS ! flowering

what up fellas,
my brother left me with these bad boys and just wondering how you guys think they look,,

any help would be much appreciated,,


also do these look like theyre almost done or still got a ways to go? will they "puff up" anymore and as soon as i put them into flowering the leaves all became 3 pointed...? im puzzled

well for one i can see a good proportion of the hairs have turned, first indicator, second would be the dropping of the sun leaves, as the plant nears maturity the fan leaves are often dropped and third in the 4th or 5th pic you can see the pods are swelling. with all this info telles me that they are at least half way throught flowering and another 3 or 4 weeks should be about the right time obviously depending on strain, without seeing the trich no one would really know for sure, but the bud will be smokeable in the next few weeks.

I agree with most of this, but your last sentence is the right answer. You really can't tell unless you look at the Trichomes under a scope. Once the trichomes are milky white/partially amber is when you want to harvest.

I've seen a few cases where the plant LOOKED ready for harvest because the leaves were dropping, but the trichomes were still mostly clear and not fully mature. Turned out the plant was just sick...

Based on pics alone, I say 2 - 3 weeks tops. But get a scope!

Hey touma98, I agree with these guys about how long they have left. It's natural for it to have 3 pointed leaves near the buds, just mini fan leaves. Just a little more advise, you should definitely get rid of that tin foil or whatever it is you have behind it and get some Mylar or panda film, both are pretty cheap. I use Mylar myself and it works great, super bright reflection, you can get it at a local grow shop. If you cant get any of that just use a flat white surface. You should also get some more CFL's if you can and make sure they are in the 2700k spectrum, add them around the plant and keep them as close as you can without burning them "if the space between the top of the plant and the light is too hot for your hand its too hot for the plant." When your plants go to sleep make sure the space they are in is completely pitch black, no light whatsoever if possible. You should also get some reflectors for the lights or make some yourself out of coke cans, cut them open and paint the silver side flat white so that you don't get hot spots on the reflector. Also I didn't notice any fans, you should add a couple small fans to your space, aim them at the plants to strengthen the stem and get good air circulation...
Soon the fan leaves will start to yellow and die so don't freak out when that happens as its natural, the plant is just using up the last of its resources. Make sure you do some research on drying and curing as well, that way you get the best out of your smoke.

wow thanks alot brother.. ive got a BUNCH of supplies coming off the internet, their just taking time because of the distance. Definatly gunna go pick up some of that mylar in the next couple days tho..

anyways thanks again.. i was just worried about the smaller buds near the middle.. will they get any denser in the last couple weeks? or are they done growing?

NP man.. From the pictures it looks like most of the hairs are still white, almost all of them will be orange(some strains are different) before harvest so I would say they still have plenty of time to dense up, it would help a lot if you could get some lights closer to them. They should start to get their fattest in the last week.. have you thought about flushing for the last 2 weeks before harvest?(watering with only water/no nutes) Many people add a tablespoon of Unsulphured Molasses per gallon of water when they flush for added sugar to the soil and sweetness to the taste. I'm going to do this for the first week of its last 2 weeks and then just filtered water for the last week. I'm also going to add a tbls to every other watering throughout flowering... Anyway I hope this helps! keep us posted

alright man thanks again.. i just went out a bought some mollasses and im gunna start adding that.. as for the flushing im just waiting for my scope to get here, due to shitty shipping. haa.. but it should be here within the next couple days

anyways by looking at the pictures, does anyone have an estimate of what my yield is gunna be around? any guesses?
what do you guys plan to do with the stem?
