problems at day 9

i'm at 9 days into an ebb and flow grow, and over the past two-three days the plants have developed some problems.
the leaves started going yellow and then dying from the tip inwards.
some of the plants are looking very good, but most are looking damn bad.

i'm growing jock horror, in an 80% perlite - 20% coarse peat mix (for pH regulation and to hold nutes) and using GHE FloraGro nute system.
water ph is kept between 5.5 to 6.5
ppm is 240
lamp is 400w about a foot above the plants.

because of some diy problems, the plants are constantly sitting in about an inch of solution, but there is still plenty of perlite above this to prevent root rot.

i'm thinking its either nute burn or not enough nutes.
anyone ever had this problem (see pics)

thanks!

i little more info - its like bright areas on the leaf that die off, and then it continues to the whole leaf...

I'm thinking its nute burn or nute burn. Seedling don't use nutes for like the first two weeks. Having them in standing water will kill them as well. VV

over doing something. they say dont nute for first 2 weeks, ive nuted from day 1 only 20% or less
is that green around the medium apart of the medium. if not its algae and your overwatering the plants. get rid of the algae find a way to stop the water from going so high in the flood cycle. either get bigger pot ,put more medium in between the plant roots and base of pot , the plant may need to be replanted little higher in the medium pack the medium when you flood the do the medium rise, you might need more medium with that type of medium it looks like something similiar that i use check my link

hey smokealot, thanks.

so i've definitely burnt the crap out of them. i've washed them off, but i don't think the survival rate is gonna be that good.
well, start from scratch now i know to limit my nutes for the first two weeks.
the GHE charts show fertilizing from week 1 for seedlings, so i guess that's what confused me.

go back to start...

i started them off with the light higher, and lowered it a bit each day.

they were under the lamp like that for several days and loving it until i upped the nutes.

why, yes, sir. i do have a cat.
what can i say - kitty wanted to help

those are peat thingies. i grow a lot outdoors (ganja, but also proper, respectable vegetation) and i find it works wonders in the medium. it has a natural ph of 6.2 - 6.5, and is really good at holding water and nutes and releasing them slowly.
