allright, today was the first day i actullay started to use my hps ballast kit

and after a few hours their was like a very dense smell comming from the transformer.....


any suggestions as to why this is happening?


the grow is in a closet if that helps...

is it a new kit? digital or coil?

could be dust burning inside ballast if its been sitting arounda while ?

My Ballasts, Are Switchable From Mh To Hps, Im Sure This Was Checked I Also Set Them On Bricks For Safety, If It Keeps Up I Would Return It For Anothier!!! No Fires Before Its Time. B. THC R+D

its a new kit and im guessing its coil cause theirs nothing digital with it =]


wait... can their be like anything near or around or covering the sides of the ballast?

and mine is also switchable

you should have about 12 inches clear around your ballast for cooling.

so it cant be like up against a corner in a closet... correct?
