Pretty Lonely Lady

Well... I'm starting a grow journal a bit late, as I am one week into my flowering light cycle. I figure better late than never.

I started my grow with 3 plants that were germinated using a plastic bag and wet paper towel. I grew them up using 3 26w 6500k CFLs. The pics below are from when they're around a month and a half old. Slow growing with the CFLs I think. But this is my first grow ever, so I couldn't really tell anyways.

I used a Schultz plant food 10-15-10 at small amounts and increased the amounts until I saw slight signs of nute burn. Once I reached this point I backed off the plant food to the lower amounts.

Here's the three plants. This is before a transplant. They are in the corner of my closet. My dog is in there too. These were taken a month ago today.

A couple days after those last pics were taken, I got some 42w 6500k CFLs in the mail. I transplanted all three plants to large pots as seen below.

This seemed to make them grow a lot faster and the leaves on the bottom looked better. I look at my plants just about every single day just to say hi. I've never put so much time and energy into plants before, but it's actually pretty rewarding.

Wasn't sure when a good time to start flowering was, so I ordered some 42w 2700k bulbs from the good ol' internet. I decided that when those bulbs got here was when I'd start flowering.

Since these all came from bagseed, I have no idea what genetics they are. But I can tell you that those two plants to the right and left of the tall guy are stubby for a reason.

I went to Seattle on vacay for 10 days. I came back to find that a good buddy of mine (the only guy I trusted to babysit for me) hadn't moved the lights after the plants had grown up into them. Somehow the tall one went around it's personal light, but the two others grew right into the bulbs. This TORCHED the middle growth part sending two shoots off one plant and 4 to shoot off the other.

Pretty much topped my plants for me.

I moved the lights and they turned out fine.

Before I did some research, the only way I thought a plant would show it's sex is after the light cycle went to 12/12. So I was really waiting for the 12/12 days to figure out which, if any, of my plants were girls. Boy was I excited to find that out...

After a bit of research though, I found out that they go into a preflowering stage once they are mature enough. I also learned that they'll show tiny hairs at the growth nodes if they're female.

The minute I learned this I grabbed a magnifying lense and ran to my closet. It was late, but I threw every light on my plants and started searching. While looking at my first plant I couldn't believe it. I said in a whisper "holy shit..." there were hairs. Definately not anything else but hairs. I was so excited I didn't know what to do.

I looked at the other two plants. And looked. And looked. Couldn't find anything except these tiny spade looking things. I didn't like them. But I figured I'd wait till it was conclusive. After another week of waiting, my bulbs came in the mail. My tallest plant and the plant on the left were males. They only showed their selves more as time went on.

So, the day that I put my new bulbs in, I chopped the other two. This was a horrible feeling. It was like someone telling me that my dog has got rabies and it's time to put it down. The whole process of cutting them down and shoving them leaves first into the garbage disposal made me think of "Ol' Yeller" over and over again.

Now I have one girl plant left with all the light to herself, hence the thread title.

As of today, she's been on 12/12 for about a week. Up until this point, it's been relatively easy. But now is where I'm asking for help, advice, pointers, or pretty much any input or opinion. I like hearing the thoughts of others.

She's got 5 lights on her. 3 42w 2700k and 2 42w 6500k. I'm thinking of getting a 150w HPS. maybe. I like the CFLs for the low heat though.

Not sure what nutes to feed. I've got molasses, haven't started that yet. Any suggestions on a blooming nute would be helpful. I've been watering with Wal-mart water, from their machine that they've got there.

I've learned pretty much everything I know about growing from this site, so I feel a general Thank You goes out to every person who has contributed. Your input has truly been endlessly useful.

And this is where we stand today.

I'm at about 4 weeks into flowering and this is how the girl looks.

I'm thinking heat stress plus low nitrogen because of flowering?

I know the curling isn't normal. But what about the major yellowing? How much is too much at 4 weeks of flower?

The yellow light is from a 150w HPS I bought. The other pics are after the lights went out.

Just searching for advice. Peace.
