I let mine hold butane about a minute or so.... 3mins is WAY too long, very green...

Told often to apply vac to it prior to butane, but lack the courage and/or gauges/valves to do so... dont wanna break my extractor, lol.

Always run with everything frozen 24hrs... butane, packed extractor, filters for winterizing...

When you think you've purged it fully, purge it some more....

It looks like the vac hose you use should just connect right to the end of the extractor. I am looking to buy one myself so I've been watching youtube videos a lot on them

Do infer a passive extractor?

Here is how we did it originally. http://skunkpharmresearch.com/passive-butane-extractor-and-reclaimer/

You can speed up the recovery using dry ice and alcohol for the cold bath.

I usually pass the butane through the column once, and then invert it so that the butane flows back into the column, and turn right side up to drain a couple times and call it good, if I'm looking for purdy extractions.

Thank you never thought about flipping it will try out on my next run. Don't have a reclaim system though. Not yet at least. View attachment 3499519

My vac hose does connect to it also problem is every time I've tried it pressurized I get a blow back so I must put a filter on gas insertion side too.

Hmm, try looking on youtube. I'm sure you have but honestly I have watched a few vids on there that show it clearly without blowback too.

Sorry I can't be of any help, good luck man!

Thanks for the info I was looking through YouTube for a good vid only found like two or three that were using a pressurized column. There's a bunch of closed loops vids. If you got a link I should check out ?

I had a feeling when you said something about the screen but since I don't own one...yet...I didn't wanna say for sure!

Glad it helped!

Pics of final product would be awesome!

Damn that looks great! How long did you keep the butane in the extractor for before you let it out?

How many cans you use and how much starting material?

It's probably just dark because it looks pretty thick! Try in a larger dish perhaps, a thinner layer always gets me a golden look!

Looking great!

image.jpg image.jpg @smink13 thank you very much for turning me on to that vid. Turns out I was pulling the vac from the wrong end now I pressurize my column and it just sucks the butane in perfectly. Here's some pics of latest
