Pressure Cooker Instead of Jars?

Hey Im currently drying my first grow in my 2 sliding door closet and these buds were chopped about 3 days ago. I dont have any glass jars to cure these buds and dont really have the urge to spend money on any at the moment.

I do however have a big ole pressure cooker that is relatively brand new. Would it work the same way as a jar? I know pressure cookers seal really well but they are however made of steel so this is why my asking if they can used for curing?

I think my buds are a day or 2 away from being ready for curing. I think I induced to much airflow to my closet the last 2 days sense they were the first few days and although they are still moist around the core of the buds I think they are ready for curing. The stems dont break in 2 yet they just bend but the outsides of the buds feel crisp.

I havent done anything with it but pressure cook 1 broccoli top and 1 coulaflour lol.its clean and still smells new after washing lol. Being as how this is my first harvest and the buds are good I Want them to be cured right though. I really dont know if the pressure cooker will cook the same way as a jar would lol. Does it matter how cramped it gets in the pot? should be filled half way with nugs after they all cut off their stems.

I think you would still get too much smell from the jiggler. other than that it should work fine, pickles are 3 bucks for a gal at sams, dump the pickles out clean the container and use it if all else fails.

This is the best time to throw them in jars!!!! You don't want your stems to break. You need the stem as well in the curing process to help ferment the bud, while in the jar. Keep in mind your bud isn't "dead" as soon as you chop it, or even a couple of days after it has been drying. Although, at this point, you won't be able to put some rooting solution on them and have them grow...They do still "get better" as the parts that still have moisture are still able to continue in maturing. Which is why you want to let the curing process last longer.

On a side note...a pressure cooker should be fine.

hope this made sense, just smoke my first blunt of the day Lol

the reason we use jars is because the triches don't stick so much to jars. idk about with metal. i wouldn't want to impart a metal taste to my buds. but you could try it seeing as how it's your weed and not mine...lol

yeah but I got alot of weed so I would need alot of jars lol. I filled that pressure cooker to the top with huge colas and put my popcorn nugs in these glass tupperware plates/jars. They are to small to put large buds in.

As for the pressure cooker, it seems like its going to work fine its already bringing out the fruity smell in my nugs so im pretty excited but I still have some pungent wet smell as well... Metal shouldnt give the buds any sort of taste or smell i dont think.

I've subscribed to your thread. Would you please let us know how it smoked in about a month? I wanna learn if it works. Thank's man.

Mhmhm, that actually sounds good! How was it?

I'm not sure if were on the same page, are you talking about curing in it? Or actually cooking the buds?

Would probably work, I would however be extremely careful with the moisture content, you are putting a lot of weed in one container and therefore a lot of moisture. You need to be vigilant about rotating the buds and burping it or you will have a pot full of mold(which would be your entire harvest). I would break down the big colas you are asking for mold issues if you dont. Really be careful with the moisture I'd hate to see you loose all that weed to mold.
