I have 5 autos, they have been growing for a month now, they have showed there sex as female. I started with a 200 w cfl, then switched to 1000 w mh...they are all about a foot tall except for one that seems to be a dwarf or something..but I'm wondering if I should go ahead and switch to the 1000 w hps?

What do you mean by D.E
i believe he is talking about the sand on top ....... they have been under a 1k for a month ?
their size leads me to believe they have been too wet like way too wet ........ not trying to be rude in anyway , but they all look a bit small

No they were under a 200 watt cfl...they only been under the 1000 watt for 2 weeks..now I got them under the 1000 watt hps...

yea they'll adjust just fine they aren't finicky it will increase yield imo also heard autos actually require less light by that I dnt mean hours I'm talking wattage

i used the fabric pots for a while but to me it was a hassle getting the waterings just right ....... you have to damn near soak them down to get the water in the middle where you really need it ....... i went back to plastic bags and pots and my plants seem alot happier ........ for a long time i thought auto's were supposed to be little dinky plants and i only pulled a oz if i was lucky from a 3 gal ....... i actually got sick and was neglecting my plants well at the time i thought i was .... i would water when i felt like it every 3-4 days sometimes longer and i was shocked at how much larger my " neglected " plants were compared to other grows of the same strain ....... this was before my RIU days ...... my yields went crazy after i found this site and started researching / reading and interacting with other growers ........ like i said in no way was i trying to be rude ...... just a bit of constructive criticism ......... with auto's less is more ....... excluding lighting .......... you have a dimmable 1k ballast ??? when i start my seedlings i just turn down my hps or just pick it up a couple feet and run at 100% from the go ......... they just cant get enough light

Yeah I'm watering once a week but I think that might still be to much. My plants never really dry out. The thing is if the plants don't dry out every week then that starts to mess with the feeding.
