If you're anywhere near New Orleans there's a small scene there. Even shops dedicated to it.
In Haitian communities you might be able to dig up some practitioners in the states.
If you're white you'll have one hell of a hard time. Expect go home white boy as a default response. Don't take it personally. It is what it is. Especially if you say you want to be a wizard. You'll probably get worse than that lol.
The coastal areas all along the South East you can find pockets of the culture. South Carolina and down.
This is VERY serious business to those people.

I'm as pale as a ghost lol... borderline albino... Growing up my friends and family called me Casper I'm so white but my family and friends are also very diverse ethnic wise.
And it's not all superstition. Like some healing herbs are what medicines are made from in the first place just lower less concentrated dose that hasn't been chemically processed and although a large part of it is " good vibes " those vibes really do make a difference. Even in traditional up to date medical practices good positive vibes can make all the difference in the healing process.
