My ppm was 820 at midnight at lights off now at lights on its 760
Was at 5.7 ph
Now at 6.6

top off withnutrients or whole res change?

Your Meyer is probably a bit skewompiss. Don't trip. Just mix enough of a batch of water and nutes to fill up your system.
What are you using? Single site(5gakl bucket) DWC?

No I made sure was calibrated last night before the change I had an issue air pumps was off roots looked a lil brown so I soaked them for 4 hours in southern ag and hydroguard then I dumped that and added brand new res at midnight and it was at 820 ppm wrote it down tested multiple times same as now and I made sure was calibrated it’s just eating like a mf apparently

that was the question just wanting to make sure everything was fine didn’t know if I needed to top off or just let it do it’s thing and ph down I thought If went down I needed to add and I thought my goal was to keep ppm and water levels going equally and ph just slightly rising am I wrong I’m learning here no ducking expert by any means just trying to grow my own meds

Air bubbles can throw off readings
This is truth.

I never noticed this with my bluelab pH pens. Sticking my Apera in a solution thats being aerated will cause it to read high. Taking a sample out of the bubbles and testing it provides a good reading after only a few seconds of "rest". For some reason I don't have this issue with the bluelab pH pens, they are slower to grab a number though, takes them like 20 - 30 seconds before you feel confident it won't change another point. My Apera meter gets a stable number much quicker, part of that may be due to the ability to see two points of accuracy so you aren't waiting to see a change in tenths, so you can see it's stopped drifting without as much wait.

As to PPM I haven't met a probe yet that didn't read low with air bubbles.

If your system has a small capacity and you have large plants then they will eat the PPM down fast. Increasing the system size would reduce the frequency of top offs / add backs or change outs.

Yeah I usually test away from bubbles I’m stuck in between topping off and using ph down to get to 5.6 and or just changing the whole res fuck my life idek what to do in this situation tbh flower time is getting a lot more tricky

Yeah this was just my first dwc trial run and surprised I got this far next run 4 8 gallon square buckets rdwc waterfall with air stones and a chiller now I’m doing frozen bottle tech and your right if would of done again would of done bigger res but like I said this was a one and done type thing

Well with my apera I literally have to pull a shot glass out of my tank (30 gal drum). I can't just read from the side thats not got a stream of bubbles coming up. Does that make sense? Either way, pull a shot glass and get a reading, see if it varies from your reservoir direct reading just to make sure.

Makes sense I’ll try that yeah next run I’m running jacks and making things as simple as possible I really like this new millinuem but I have to guess my mixes and etc trial and error when jacks I know exactly

To calculate addbacks I do this

Lets say our nute mix was:

Micro 6 ml/gal
Grow 6 ml/gal
Bloom 8 ml/gal

Lets just for this exercise say that we ended up with 1000 PPM and we are considering that the target, it wouldn't actually equal that PPM.

It's the next day and they have dropped to 800 PPM with h2o top off either done by float or you did it.

To figure out how much nutes to add:
1000 - 800 = 200 PPM Drop
So 200/1000 = 20%

We now add:

Micro = 6 x 0.20 = 1.2 ml/gal (gallons is system capacity)
Grow = 6 x 0.20 = 1.2 ml/gal
Bloom = 8 x 0.20 = 1.6 ml/gal

That should bring us back to 1000 PPM.

I wouldn't do that more than a couple times before doing a change out to ensure the elemental balance stays on target.

Just saw your post about Jacks, so I will add that you would have measurements in grams per gallon instead of ml per gallon.

So okay I just added back nutrients no water tho and got it back up to 800 was at 760 maybe I’ll do a whole fucking change I ate a edible today and have zero motivation I know I need to do it but can’t seam to get my lazy ass up smfh hopefully one night won’t fuck it up and I’ll do it first thing toma ?

Bro, 800 is PUSHING IT if you ask me. Get it down to 600 so you don't end up burning your girls.

I wouldn't fuck with things anymore tonite, enjoy your buzz and get on it tomorrow. If anything check your pH.

If you build a waterfall manifold, you won't be needing air stones/pumps/lines. So eliminate that from your thought.
