Power strips plugged into other power strips?

NO! I work in a hardware store, trust me thats a big no. lol. That's how you start fires. And considering you probably don't want the fire department to have come and look around while they put our a fire, or have your crop burn down, just buy a bigger power strip or use an extension cord to connect to additional outlets.

I've got 10 42 watt veg CFLs and 14 42 watt flower CFLs. I'm in a very limited space, HID is not an option and I already have lights. I'm plugging them directly into power strips.

Yea have your extension cord going from the wall and connect the surge protector to it. You'll be safe. But plugging surge protector into surge protector will run the risk of starting a fire.

plugging one power strip into another is called "piggie backing" and it is a huge NO NO as far as the Fire Department is concerned. Worse is plugging a extenshion cord into a power strip. A fire waiting to happen. Don"t do it.

fuck!!! this thread possibly saved my house!
I went to go switch some wiring around because I was scared, and the damn plug was melted onto the powerstrip, and the powerstrip is all black and burnt, I feel like such an asshole terrible person
dont mean to thread jack, but... I'm almost done
... Okay possibly a real dumb question but... Is it okay if I plug a washer and dryer into a power strip?
and is it okay to run over 1200W through a surge protector, or a heavy duty extension cord?

I bought a new heavy duty extention cord, and a medium (WTF?) duty powerstrip today, that I have a washer and dryer pluged into... hope thats not a problem...

while I generally agree with Mr hardware store..it depends on what you are plugging in..if you are powering a small air pump it is ok,, but not your HID light.. clearly it is better to have the power strip into the house power.
