whats missing from that set it can't be that all you do is wire it and you have a 400w HPS. you need that battery pack looking thing right?

hmm, you might be on to something here, my friend had to buy a new igniter and it was $15 and if the socket is only 5 thats just $20 for the setup.. oh wait.. you need a step up transformer to bump up the voltage.. ugh.. i dont know how much that would be

Ok, well the measly 110v that comes out of your wall is not enough to power a large wattage bulb, a step-up transformer is needed. It takes your 110v and and bumps it up. i dunno the specifics of any bulbs or even what voltage they need. i just know about electronic theory.

DO you know what one looks like... I google imaged it but I dont know they dont look like the things I saw at home depot for the HPS lights

it could look like anything, another battery pack looking thing, to a series of coils, i doubt they sell them on the shelfs. specialty item probably. but every set up would be different, the igniter needs a certain voltage, id need specifics on the igniter. and i could figure it out, if we build a 400w light setup for like $40, we will be heroes lol.

Yeah thats cheap, step up built in, or could be low voltage. im going to order one when i get some more money. been jobless for two weeks, got a interview today though.

I just quit my job just got my last pay check... probably wont order that light for awhile. I still have plenty of time until flowering, and until then I'm going to check all local lamp stores and shit to see if I can get one locally... on craigslist some dude like 30 minits away is selling a 600w HPS but for 650 I think but than he says 400 and he doesn't have a number...
