may sound a daft question, but what would be the minimum in litres of pot size you should use... If any ???

that ? can be answered with a ? how big are your plants now and how big do you plan on getting them?

So how big are you going to grow the plant?

The more room for roots [usually] means bigger above ground....

I have grown a successful plant in a 1 litre Snapple Bottle Clear...

Yes... The clear Pot story will harm your roots is also Bull Sheiot...

OK... Clone in a clear plastic top 2" deep...
When I was pushing the limits on smallness of twig and container I could get a clone to root in soil...
I cloned into a 2" deep clear container and watched the roots explode...
Turned out fine...

I've just put 3 cuttings (in rooting sponges) into 1.5lt pots of hydroton.
I ran out of the 6.5lt pots and needed to put them somewhere...

there in small pots the just now. is it a matter of the bigger the pots the bigger the plants?

Ok then. 13.5L (3 gallon) minimum
BETTER would be a 22.5L (5 gallon) if you plan to do any topping (I would).
I don't know if you metric guys can get in between size pots, but a 36L (8 gallon) would be choice if you plan to make it REAL bushy.
A 45L would almost be overkill.

The smallest pots I use to finish plants in is 7 inches square, about 3/4 of a gallon. My fast indicas (from clone) will veg 3-4 weeks and flower 6-7 weeks. So I go from clone dome to harvest in 10-11 weeks. Growing in small pots forces the plant to flower earlier and finish quicker. My MJ guru tells me that a good rule of thumb is to use one gallon of dirt for every month you plan on keeping the plant. By using the smaller pots I am forcing the plant to mature earlier. Your end pot size should be 5 gallons. The more room you have for roots, the larger the plant grows, the more bud You get

I just harvested 45grams of A+ buds in a little over a gallon of coco. GDP's Tahoe OG x OGK male from norcal. Reg bean from seed. Really makes me want to try a SOG grow. Blew my mind. I just threw the thing in to see what would happen because I was running out of room in veg.
