Pot size, outdoor grow

Hello, I am doing my first grow outdoors with two plants in 5 gal buckets. My question is, is a 5 gal bucket big enough for the entire grow? Would there be any benefit to transplanting to a bigger pot? Bigger plant is about 2 feet high still vegging. I have heard conflicting answers to this question so I wanted to hear some more opinions. Thanks!

plants SHOULD..............SHOULD be about 2x the size of the base of the pot
I have plants in 3- 25 gals. pots....... and I get what I say above.

There is no argument about pot size increasing plant size. If it were me i'd either plant in the ground or use a VERY large pot

Nice grow dave! I think I will transplant into bigger pots. It does kinda seem like my plant grew really fast to about 2 feet, then kinda chilled out in size. It still is pumping out new branches and leaves like crazy though. Fresno, those pics are nuts! Since I'm a noob and more concerned about an easy high yield harvest i might just transplant

so would I .....I called bullshit on that guy and he posted more pics making me look retarded lol

Ok so I went to this hydro store that also sells outdoor growing supplies. Showed the dude a picture of my plant and he said to wait on transplanting. He said I may be over watering (I water about every 2-3 days) and that I should let the soil dry out more for better growth. He didn't think I was fully utilizing the 5gal currently. My plant is aprox. 2 feet from the soil. Do yall agree? I appreciate any advice!!! Happy smokin!

after 2 or 3 weeks u should have enough roots in that bucket for a smooth transplant and its getting to a point where its now or never transplanting in flower is kinda risky not that it cant be done but its a risk u dont have to take your yield will no doubt be better in a bigger pot thats always how it works a five is plenty big enough but bigger is better everytime ..... u probably have been overwatering which is all the more reason to transplant....... there is a reason y dude works at the store

22 gallon tubs work great. I take hardened plants and plant them in the 22s. Less work, easier on the plant overall.

Wow thanks for all the great advice guys! My plant is showing signs of flowering already. There are some white hairs forming, but not many. Is this technically "flowering" or is that considered preflower?
