Post Germination Problems

Hey I just wanted to hear everyones methods for getting seedlings to root in potting mix. I have tried unsuccesfully now 4 times to get my seedlings to develop roots (the tip just shrivels up and bends over). And also...How long does it take for the youngens to start growing roots? And after the seed is germinated, before I plant it into the soil, do I need to remove it from the brown shell?? Cause I havnt been and that may be my problem... Let me know guys!

Try this way. Soak your seeds in water for 24 hrs. Then no matter how they look or sink or float plant them. They will be up in 3 to 4 days.
