Possible to use a 400 watt hps throught veg and flower?

Hey I have 2 sun system 2 400 watts hps system and i dont have the money to buy a system that can do bith hps and metal halide. Could use my 400 watt hps through veg and flower and still get goo qulity bud off of the plant?

a mh will give you denser vegetative growth, with closer node spacing, an is preferable in veg. However a hps will do fine too!

ebay has 400 and 430w son agro coppy bulbs for $20.hobby lighting is the store. son agro has added blue,plus these bulbs are bright! im getting 2000+ in a 5' square from a large sun system reflector.
*edit, i think they are luminux copy bulbs, either way.

I run Hortalux eyes to stop stretching and these are almost as good as a MH (80.00 at hydro store)Ive never vegged with regular HPS bulb, I was always afraid of stretching
