approx 2 weeks ago the leaves on some of my mums (bonsai mothers) began to look like the color is washing out, fade to brown, and die in a light brown color. The leaves also get an odd texture when the color starts to fade.
The first to be affected was Kali Mist. I hit forums and sites looking for common symptoms. Since I was due to cut back the roots and put in some new soil that was my first effort hoping to eliminate the problem quickly and hopefully not cause others. I did so for 5 of them, leaving 3 that appeared to be in perfect condition for a comparison. At the same time I treated all of them with neem oil hoping it might eliminate any possible fungus or pest problem spite having only an occasional fungus gnat sighting.
Since then Kali is dead, 2 others are very close to that, and the others not looking well. The 3 that were unaffected now are and rapidly declining in health. While i recognize that it is likely i will need to start from scratch, I really want to understand what has happened here and prevent it moving forward so please ask if i can provide more info that might help.
I will also add, only the mums seem to be affected. I have a few clones in the bottom side of the veg chamber as well as 2 flowering plants in another chamber of the same room that are not affected as far as i can tell.
grow description:
indoor grow
hydrofarm 5 inch square pots
ocean forest soil (have used from start)
15oz water every 2-3 days. (varies due to how recently have trimmed)
using usually 1.5 T per gallon of which each plant gets 15oz every two weeks
all water and water/nutrient mixes are ph between 6.0-6.5
soil change every 6 months has been plan, last done in early jan
i do not test the soil ph or ppm in water but plan to start doing so

all fluorescent lighting
Though unrelated, this is my first post on here so i want to share some info about my experience thus far
began 3/2014
grown/maintained 8 mums
over 3 grows flowered 6 plants for about 1lb total yield
4th harvest in progress
fairly consistent cloning, lost only 1 of about 20
made cannasalve, cannabutter, cannaoil, hash, green dragon, candy, and others
smoked alot
enjoyed it all : )
