Possible Problem?

Well I've got 2 plants outdoors now, and when I went back to check on them today I noticed that each plant looked like they had been cut, they were both the second node from the top, very close to the main stalk and both had this reddish/brown color where it was cut/taken off. I was just wondering if this was possibly someone trying to take a clone off the plant or if there was just an insect or something that ate off part of it and thats the color it turned? Any ideas or suggestions on what happened there?

Mabey an animal ate them, thats what happend to one of my ladies.

Could have been an animal, a deer most likely. Could have also been a sticky-fingered passerby hastily taking some clones. The color changing at the site of the damage is pretty normal, though, nothing to worry about =)

Ok cool thanks, I know that there are raccoons in the area (living within 30-40 feet) so I'm just going to go ahead and assume that they wanted something to munch on and it was just a coincidence that they were at the same node, just odd it was one from each plant though
