possible? auto flower mother..

If you grow an auto-flowering plant....how do you keep a mother plant? You can't right? From what i understand, if your mother plant flowers...you can't clone it anymore?
I ask this because i just looked at a high yielding and supposedly potent auto-flowering strain. But they want 260 dollars....seems like a rip off if you have to breed your plants to grow a second wave..
